Summit happiness on the Hochfirst
Are you looking for a hike with a real wow effect? Then the Hochfirst is exactly your destination! At 1,199 metres, it is one of the highest mountains in the Upper Black Forest and offers a magnificent panoramic view over Lake Titisee, the Feldberg and, in good weather, even as far as the Alps. The hike to the Hochfirst
There are several routes that will take you to the summit - there is something for every fitness level:
- From Titisee (approx. 6 km): A popular route with a pleasant ascent through shady forests.
- From Neustadt (approx. 5 km): A somewhat steeper but varied ascent.
- Circular hike (approx. 12 km): Ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy an extended tour with a variety of views.
What awaits you at the top
- Hochfirsthütte: The rustic mountain hut on the summit invites you to stop for a bite to eat - here you can enjoy hearty Black Forest fare and cool drinks.
- Observation tower: If you want to go a few metres higher, climb the tower and be rewarded with a 360° view.
- Pure nature: The summit is a quiet place to take a deep breath and enjoy - perfect for a break after the ascent.
Best time for the hike
Spring to autumn are ideal, but the tour is also worthwhile in winter - then with snowshoes! The snow-covered forests and clear views over the landscape are a real experience.
